Republican Bio Sketches

John S. McCain

person’s viewpoint on life can be influenced by their background. John McCain’s military lifestyle has influence on the decisions he makes today. John McCain the third was born on August 29, 1936, a son to Admiral John S. “Jack” McCain and Roberta Wright McCain. He was born I the Panama Canal Zone, a military installation where his family was stationed. John McCain grew up as a military brat who never lived in a place for more than five and a half years. Even then that place was when he was being held captive. He was rebellious when he went to school, so he never really received any good grades. He attended US Naval Academy where he placed 894th among his classmates of 899. Each year, he would earn more than 100 demerits, which kept him I the century club hall of fame. He was married to model Carol Shepp for fifteen years and had one daughter and adopted her two sons from her previous marriage. After he came back from being captured, he started to have affairs and soon divorced Carol. Later on he remarried to Cindy Lou Hensley, a millionaire. They are still married today and currently have two sons, and two daughters, one of which was adopted. Their daughter Meghan McCain is a journalist who is currently working as an aide to her father’s campaign. Their son John attends the US Naval Academy and his brother James joined the US Marine Corps and is currently stationed in Iraq. During his time fighting, John McCain survived many near death experiences while others died. In his plane crash, he broke both of his arms and one of his legs; he recovered but then found that he could no longer fight in war. He has been on the US Senate since 1987 and hopes to become President in 2009. This will be the second time that he has run for President, and if elected, he will be the oldest President in history.

Sarah Louise Heath Palin

Sarah Palin was born on February 11,1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her parents are Sarah and Charles R. Heath. She is married to Todd Palin and as five children: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig. Sarah is a non-denominational Christian. Her professions include sportscaster, homemaker, and politician.
On December 4th, 2006 she took the office as the governor of Alaska. With this checker piece of her life moved, she made history with being the first woman governor of Alaska. Palin earned her bachelors degree of communications and journalism at the University of Idaho. The citizens in Alaska may have her as governor but that doesn’t mean that they all necessarily like her. Some think that she does fine as Alaska’s governor but do not believe that she will be able to handle being vice president. Others believe that she has had no real experience, only governoring Alaska from the confines of Wasilla, Alaska.

palin:
from this post, ifeel that you are trying to make the point that palin is very determined to do things that some women don't do. i thought it was interesting how you emphesised that she is a woman that she is the first woman governor of alaska and the first one running for vice president. one thing that i am wondering about this post is what other political positions she has taken.

Mary,

I really like how you included a lot of facts about McCain. I can tell that you dont really like McCain. It does show a lot of stances and a lot of history.

I actually didnt know that if elected, McCain would be the oldest U.S president ever.

This was very well writen. I have no questions because it includes all of the information I need to know, from both stances.
