A person's emotional response, core belief system, and their viewpoint on life is greatly determined by events that happened in their life. Barack Obama's harsh family background has been influential in how he acts in reaction to circumstances as they pass. Barack Obama was born on August 4,1964 as the son of Ann Dunham and Barack H. Obama Senior who met at the University of Hawaii. They were just married for three years when they divorced when Barack was two, leaving him with a shattered family. Ann Dunham later married Lolo Seotoro and moved to Indonesia because Lolo's student visa was revoked. There Barack's half sister Maya Soetoro was born. While Barack was in Jakarta, Indonesia he attended school from kindergarten through fourth grade. While attending school he wrote a few essays stating that he wanted to become president. In 1971 he was sent back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. In Hawaii Barack attended the Punahou School from fifth through tweleth grade. Later he graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles and received a Bachelor's Degree in political science form the Columbia University in New York. Later on, he graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude, or in the top ten percent of his class. He was elected the first African American editor of Harvard Law in 1988 and he graduated in 1991. His lifestyle of work lead him to run for Illinois State Senate as a Democrat. In 200 he tried unsuccessfully for the House of Representatives, but later beat a millionaire for the US Senate. Barack was left in the US Senate, with both of his parents dead, and soon to run for President. His mother had died of ovarian cancer in 1995 and his father (biological) had died in a car crash leaving his wifes and seven children.

Republican Bio Sketches
Sarah Palin was born on February 11,1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her parents are Sarah and Charles R. Heath. She is married to Todd Palin and as five children: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig. Sarah is a non-denominational Christian. Her professions include sportscaster, homemaker, and politician.
On December 4th, 2006 she took the office as the governor of Alaska. With this checker piece of her life moved, she made history with being the first woman governor of Alaska. Palin earned her bachelors degree of communications and journalism at the University of Idaho. The citizens in Alaska may have her as governor but that doesn’t mean that they all necessarily like her. Some think that she does fine as Alaska’s governor but do not believe that she will be able to handle being vice president. Others believe that she has had no real experience, only governoring Alaska from the confines of Wasilla, Alaska.

New Jersey
New Jersey is my choice for the math part of the pbl blog. I chose New Jersey because my dad's family lives there. Also, my family travels there at least once a year at Christmas.
